Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub-Fund
The Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub‑Fund supports projects that protect, enhance and sustain the natural environment across our region. Established through community support and growing through donations and investment, the fund provides a lasting source of funding for grassroots initiatives, partnerships and innovative solutions that strengthen environmental resilience for current and future generations.
The Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub‑Fund was established in 2026 to create a lasting source of funding for environmental initiatives across the region. Launched through Our Resilient Future: An Evening with Dr Richard “Harry” Harris and strengthened by the legacy contribution of the Mount Gambier Farmers Market, the fund reflects a shared commitment to protecting and enhancing the natural assets that underpin our communities, industries and way of life.
For more than 20 years, Stand Like Stone Foundation has focused on building the resilience of people and communities across the Limestone Coast. This fund recognises that strong communities also depend on a healthy and resilient environment.
The fund supports grassroots projects, community partnerships and innovative initiatives that contribute to environmental sustainability and resilience across the Limestone Coast. This may include activities such as habitat restoration, biodiversity protection, waterway enhancement, environmental education, sustainable land management, renewable energy initiatives and other projects that deliver positive environmental outcomes.
Unlike a one‑off fundraising campaign, the Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub‑Fund is invested in perpetuity. Donations are pooled and invested, with future earnings distributed through grant rounds to support environmental priorities as they emerge over time. This means contributions made today will continue to benefit the region for generations to come.
The fund also provides a vehicle for attracting investment into the Limestone Coast from government, philanthropy, trusts, foundations, businesses and individuals who wish to support environmental outcomes in the region. By working alongside existing organisations already delivering important work on the ground, the fund aims to amplify community impact and strengthen environmental resilience across the Limestone Coast.
Donations to the Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub‑Fund are tax deductible and help create a lasting environmental legacy for our region.
