Chris Brodie

Chris Brodie has spent most of his life working in the primary sector. He holds a Bachelor of Horticulture from Massey University in New Zealand where he gained experience growing kiwifruit, avocados and apples.
Chris and his wife Janet later moved to Mildura where they grew citrus, avocados and wine grapes before relocating to Coonawarra in 2000. There, Chris worked as a viticulturalist based at Katnook Estate. He quickly discovered that Coonawarra, Penola and the Limestone Coast offer a wonderful lifestyle with abundant natural resources, opportunities and vibrant communities.
Chris is passionate about community involvement and believes that strong communities need active volunteers. Over the years, he has contributed through leadership, team and committee roles including:
- Penola Primary School Governing Council
- Coonawarra Grape Growers Association
- South Australian Wine Industry Association
- Australian Society of Viticulture & Oenology
- National Trust SA Penola Branch
- Penola Amateur Swim Club
- Greenrise Lake Advisory Committee

We acknowledge the Aboriginal people as the First Nations of these lands and waters of the Limestone Coast. We acknowledge the Elders, past, present and future, and we respect the ongoing deep feelings of attachment and relationships of First Nations people to country.
