Stand Like Stone Scholarships Open 1 October
Stand Like Stone is investing in the future of the Limestone Coast by helping students access education, training and career pathways through its annual scholarship program.

Students with a connection to the Limestone Coast are encouraged to apply for financial support to further their education as applications open October 1 for the latest round of Stand Like Stone Foundation educational scholarships.
The annual scholarship program supports students of all ages and stages of learning, from primary and secondary school through to vocational education, apprenticeships and university study.
Stand Like Stone Foundation chief executive officer Jason Wallace said the scholarships were made possible through the generosity of local donors who wanted to invest in the future of the region.
“Education opens doors and creates opportunity, both for individuals and for our community,” Mr Wallace said.
“Every scholarship represents the generosity of someone who believes in the potential of local people and wants to help remove barriers to learning.
“Whether a student is pursuing a trade, developing professional skills, studying medicine, training as a teacher or following a creative passion, these scholarships can help ease the financial pressure that often accompanies further study.”
Stand Like Stone Foundation has been supporting educational opportunities for two decades through scholarships established by individuals, families, businesses and community groups.
The scholarships support students studying approved courses anywhere in Australia, with opportunities available across a broad range of disciplines and educational pathways.
“Many of our donors have established scholarships because they understand the value of education and want to see future generations thrive,” Mr Wallace said.
“By supporting local students today, we are helping build the skills, knowledge and leadership our region will need tomorrow.”
In 2026, Stand Like Stone Foundation awarded 42 scholarships worth $96,700 to students with strong connections to the Limestone Coast, supporting studies in areas including medicine, nursing, engineering, education, agriculture, business, journalism, allied health and the performing arts.
Applicants are encouraged to explore the range of scholarships available, including opportunities linked to specific schools, industries, areas of study and personal circumstances, as well as scholarships open to a broad range of applicants.
Applications open on 1 October 2026 and close on Sunday 15 November 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in December for study commencing or continuing in 2027.
